Die W-JAX 2005 präsentiert Ihnen Keynotes hochkarätiger Industriesprecher. Hier erläutern die führenden Köpfe der Software-Industrie und bekannte Vertreter der Community die wichtigsten Trends und Visionen für die Zukunft des Enterprise-Computings.
K1: The past, present, and future of the Java Web Tier
- Ed Burns (Sun Microsystems, Inc.)
This presentation will open with a brief history of the Java Web Tier with special emphasis on the ways the act of developing a Web application has evolved. In particular, we'll examine how the skillset required to build a Web application has changed over the years. The middle section of the presentation will show how JSF fits into the historical picture, what problems it solves and what solutions it provides. We will spend some time comparing JSF to other popular Web frameworks such as Struts and Tapestry. The presentation will close with an analysis of several trends in Web application development and some speculation about where this might lead us, both with JSF and beyond.

K2: Why J2EE Projects Fail

In this talk, Rod will draw on his experience as a consultant to discuss why J2EE projects often fail, and how to avoid common pitfalls. The main focus will be technical issues, such as architectural choices and coding practices. Rod will also discuss organization issues such as approaches to team management and tool set, and process issues such as appropriate risk mitigation and testing strategy. The presentation will conclude with positive recommendations that may help to make your projects more successful.

K3: Late Talk: Eine kritische Betrachtung von Softwarearchitektur
- Markus Völter (voelter - ingenieurbüro für softwaretechnologie)
Softwarearchitektur ist im Allgemeinen viel zu technologie-, standard- und hypelastig. Konzeptionelle Architektur, inkl. der Defintion eines Programmiermodells, macht kaum einer. Diese Session zeigt in Form einer Reihe von Best Practices, wie man im Rahmen von Projekten sinnvoll Architektur entwickelt und umsetzt. Auf die Rolle von (formalen) Modellen, Patterns und Standards wird auch eingegangen.

K4: Transforming software development into a managed business process

Managing risks associated with the complex task of delivering software, whether this is building applications from scratch, customizing packages or integration projects, is in itself a complex task. There are several phases through the life of an application that can be optimized to transform software development and delivery into an accelerated and disciplined approach that aligns the people, process, and technology to maximize the business value of software. Such improvements should not be seen as destination but a journey in itself.

K5: SOA und die Microsoft-Plattform

"Service Oriented Architecture" (SOA) ist seit einiger Zeit, der Begriff, welcher die Zielarchitektur einer flexiblen und agilen IT beschreiben soll. Wie positioniert sich Microsoft zu diesem Thema und wie passen neue Technologien und Produkte wie "Windows Communication Framework" (WCF), "Workflow Foundation" (WF), Biztalk Server und Visual Studio 2005 in dieses Bild. In diesem Vortrag wird auch darauf eingegangen, wie man denn zu einer SOA gelangen kann und wo auch Probleme bei der Umsetzung einer SOA liegen können.
