Code of Conduct

JAX & W-JAX - The Conferences for Java, Architecture and Software Innovation

Conference Code of Conduct

Our conferences are places where different people – united by similar interests and work scopes – come together and we want these occassions to be an environment, where everyone feels safe, good and accepted.

Hence, we require from all participants – including our attendees, speakers, sponsors, exhibitors and staff at our conferences – to agree with the following code of conduct, which we will enforce throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all to help ensuring a safe and respectful environment for everybody.
Our conferences are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone.

Examples of harassment include offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Sponsors are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. In particular, sponsors should not use sexualised images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualised clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualised environment.

Participants asked to stop any harassing behaviour are expected to comply immediately.
If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact immediately a member of the conference team at [email protected] or +49 172 6684441. We will be happy to assist with any concerns you might have.
